Deanna thrives on solving policy problems and making connections in Sacramento. With eight years of experience in California politics, she has helped shape laws and build strong relationships in areas like property insurance, state parks, student loans, campaign finance, and housing development.

In her most recent role, as the Legislative Director for Senator Steve Glazer, she built relationships with Senators and their senior staff while coordinating policy analysis of over 200 legislative measures annually. She also spearheaded key legislation introducing a tax credit for journalism jobs, capturing national attention and influencing other states.

Throughout her career in the legislature, Deanna advised elected officials on the Assembly Committees for Banking and Finance, Insurance, Elections, and the Senate Committee on Health. She has also advocated for California's largest property insurance companies and the largest state parks system in the nation.

Beyond her professional achievements, Deanna is dedicated to community engagement, serving on professional development boards for women in government relations and the Capital Fellows, a nationally recognized public policy fellowship.

Deanna began her career as an Assembly Fellow for former Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Sacramento State, focusing on housing development and organizational communication. She also earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Chico State, where she was Student Body President.
